How this calculator works

The starting bill assumes no solar or battery. We subtract the monthly service fee, divide the remainder by the buying rate, and split that energy into day and night using your slider. We use an average month of 365 ÷ 12 days.

Daily solar production is fixed at 30 kWh for 6.6 kW and 60 kWh for 13.3 kW. Solar first covers daytime use. Remaining solar supplies the battery, up to 11.2 or 22.4 kWh and no more than your night-time demand. Only the solar left after both uses earns an export credit. Energy is never counted twice. The service fee remains in the bill; export credits may offset it.

This is a simplified daily energy balance, not a roof assessment or hourly forecast. It assumes daytime solar and demand coincide, battery energy shifts to night on a one-for-one basis, and all leftover solar can be exported. Weather, seasonal variation, battery conversion losses, power limits, export restrictions and degradation are not modelled. Actual savings can be lower. A battery with no solar has no savings in this model. An existing system’s post-solar bill cannot be used as the starting bill.
